Trainer and manager of Dominic Thiem (a multiple finalist of Grand Slam tournaments and currently the 3rd world tennis player in the ATP ranking), he was responsible for the development of his junior career. He began working as a coach at Günter Bresnik’s academy in Vienna in 1997, when Thiem was just three years old. This year (2020) he opened an academy in Vienna, called the "Austrian Tennis Committee." The project aims to train tennis players from 14 to 18 years old in Austria.
Wolfgang has a vast experience and knowledge on how to lead a young tennis player's career so that he or she can succeed on a global scale. His course will be mainly targeted at parents of young or future players. Thiem will focus on technical, psychological, motor and financial aspects in the development of junior career. He will present to parents any pitfalls and indicate what is important in particular age categories of the young tennis player.
